Sophie Turner seemingly called out Evangeline Lilly’s “stupid” reason for not practicing social distancing.
In case you’ve been avoiding the daily news, the world is currently battling the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic, which has already caused more than 450 deaths in the United States alone. That said, the Game of Thrones actress — who is reportedly expecting her first child with husband Joe Jonas — isn’t taking any risks with her personal health or those of others, hence why she’s sided with public health officials to avoid social gatherings and stay home as much as possible to lessen the chances of spreading the disease.
Well, Lilly apparently made a post objecting the notion of social distancing, which may well could be a matter of life or death for those around her. Taking to Instagram, the Ant-Man and the Wasp star posted a picture with her morning tea, captioning it, “Just dropped my kids off at gymnastics camp. They all washed their hands before going in. They are playing and laughing. #businessasusual.”
When a fan called her out for her decision, Lilly responded, “I have two young kids. Some people value their lives over their freedom, some people value freedom over their lives.”
Turner appeared to take issue with this when she threw some obvious shade at Lilly — sans name-dropping — as she urged followers to “Stay inside,” adding, "Don’t be f—ing stupid. Even if you count your 'freedom over ... your health.' I don’t give a f—k about your freedom. You could be infecting other people, other vulnerable people around you by doing this. So stay inside, guys! It’s not cool, it’s not big, and it’s not clever… And that’s the tea." (Watch the clip below.)
Several celebrities have already contracted the wide-spreading virus, including Tom Hanks, Idris Elba, and Andy Cohen.
As of Monday morning (March 23), there are more than 35,000 confirmed cases of coronavirus in the United States.
