Metro Boomin had a chance to tell his side of the story as his sexual assault trial moved forward.
On Wednesday, September 24, the accomplished producer took the witness stand in Los Angeles on the second day of his trial. Metro Boomin, born Leland Wayne, took the opportunity to respond to several claims that the alleged victim, Vanessa LeMaistre, made during her testimony. He told the court that he and LeMaistre had consensual sex twice before the alleged incident occurred in 2016. He also touched on conversations they had during the peak of their friendship, in which she once claimed Lil Wayne fathered her deceased nine-month-old son.
According to Complex, LeMaistre testified that she thought Lil Wayne's 2011 song "How To Love" was about her. She also revealed that she dated Weezy in 2009 for 10 months, which matches up with an interview with a South African news outlet. Despite her alleged past with Lil Wayne, LeMaistre seemed to be shocked when Metro mentioned that she told him the Young Money founder was the father of her dead child.
In her lawsuit, LeMaistre said that she and Metro Boomin met in 2016 while they were in Las Vegas. She explained how their friendship strengthened after they mutually agreed that music helped them through their lowest points in life. They also discussed her grief over her late child. In September 2016, the "Like That" producer invited LeMaistre to his studio in Los Angeles to see him work. While at the studio, LeMaistre said she took a shot of alcohol and half a tab of Xanax, which caused her to pass out. LeMaistre claims that she woke up to Metro Boomin performing oral sex on her while in a hotel room. She also claimed she couldn't move or speak during the alleged attack.
LeMaistre claimed that she got pregnant after the alleged sexual assault and had to get an abortion. She didn't report Metro Boomin until she experienced an ayahuasca trip last year. During her testimony, LeMaistre told the court she didn't hallucinate during the ceremony. Instead, the psychedelic brew did help her realize that her pain and suffering were a result of the alleged incident. She also claimed to have connected with Metro Boomin's late mother during her experience. LeMaistre said the producer's mom told her she was disappointed in her son, which apparently upset him in court. Afterward, she vowed to "blow the whistle" on Metro Boomin.
Metro Boomin has denied all of LeMaistre's allegations. His lawyer, Lawrence C. Hinkle II, argued that she's only trying to extort the producer into giving her money and attention. LeMaistre has asked for between $3.4 and $3.7 million in damages.
