Sherard Dixon, an accomplished MC who went by the name of Posta Boy, has reportedly passed away.

On Monday, October 27, artists like Mickey Factz began posting tributes to the late artist. Posta Boy was the first-ever winner of "Freestyle Fridays" on BET’s "106 & Park." His raps were so good that he had a historic seven-week run, which landed him in the show's Hall of Fame. He also released songs like "Jurassic Harlem," in which he sampled the Jurassic Park theme and mentions his run on "Freestyle Fridays."

"I'm the same n***a 106 & Park retired/Smack the world with more hits than Mark McGwire," he rapped.

Soon after the news broke, numerous MC’s and rap fans took to social media to pay tribute. New York’s own Skyzoo also remembered Posta Boy’s legacy and recalled how his freestyles made artists want to be "106 & Park."

“Damn, RIP Posta Boy,” he wrote. “As a 106 & Park alumni, the run Posta started made that audition line wrap around the corner twice after he retired 7 straight. We all wanted in. Much love to his legacy and strength to his family indeed.”

Posta Boy’s cause of death has not been revealed and his family has not spoken about his passing yet. However, the rapper did have severe health issues in the past. According to AllHipHop, Posta Boy revealed his battle with cancer several years ago. He reportedly had one of his testicles removed and endured a 11.5 hour surgery to remove tumors after it spread to his kidney and other organs. It’s not clear if cancer played a role in his death.

Rest in peace, Posta Boy. See more tributes to the late rapper below.
