Young Bleed's family is speaking out after the veteran rapper suffered a medical emergency following his appearance at Cash Money and No Limit's Verzuz battle.
On Tuesday, October 28, TMZ confirmed that the 47-year-old artist, born Glenn Clifton Jr., was taken to the hospital and listed in serious condition after he suffered a "major medical emergency." Young Bleed's sister, Tedra, addressed the situation shortly after Internet blogs falsely reported that the No Limit signee had died. She posted a heated Facebook post in which she declared that her brother is still alive and demanded people to stop posting RIP messages.
Young Bleed suffered from the medical emergency shortly after the Cash Money and No Limit Verzuz ended in Las Vegas. During the show on Saturday night, Bleed delivered an energetic performance of his hit with C-Loc "How Ya Do That" and was on stage with No Limit throughout the battle. Master P asked for prayers soon after learning about Bleed's condition.
"@snoopdogg and I was just talking about how we have to love eachother while we here!" he wrote on Instagram. "We just turned up with our brother @therealyoungbleed @verzuztv Thanks for all y’all prayers and we need more prayers for him and his family as he fights in ICU #GodGotUs #NoLimitSoldier Tell your people you love them every time they walk out the door."
Young Bleed's "How Ya Do That" was the record that got him down with No Limit in the 1990s. The song was included on the soundtrack to Master P's 1997 film I'm Bout It. Master P helped Bleed sign a deal with Priority Records and dropped his major label debut album My Balls & My Word in 1998. He's dropped eight albums over the years including his most recent LP, Dare' Iza' God.
