Fisk University gymnast Morgan Price defended her historic national title.
According to HBCU Legends on Sports Illustrated, Price won the USA Gymnastics All-Around title at the 2025 Women's Collegiate Gymnastics National Invitational Championships held at Centenary Dome last week. The Fisk University gymnast secured first place in her vault, balance beam, floor exercise, and uneven bars routines.
The achievement makes Price the first HBCU gymnast to win consecutive national championships. With a score of 39.350, Price defeated Southeast Missouri State University's Taylor Ingle, who earned a 39.225, and the University of Bridgeport's Abigail Kenney, who tallied a 38.950.
Price is no stranger to making history. The star gymnast became the first hailing from an HBCU to win a national collegiate title last year. Earlier this year, Price also made history as the first HBCU gymnast to earn a perfect 10.0 score following her bar routine.
Price previously shared that she declined a full scholarship at the University of Arkansas to attend Fisk University and pursue gymnastics.
“I made the decision to switch just to inspire the younger generation so that younger African American girls can see that HBCU gymnastics is a thing and that we can compete with the best of the best," Price said.
