Montero Hit #1 For Lil Nas X

Lil Nas X s controversial “Montero (Call Me By Your Name)” has debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

The entire rollout for his song and video seems to be effective as chart data predicts "Montero's" debut on the Billboard Hot 100 looks like Lil Nas X could score his second #1 hit record on the charts.

“Montero” moved in just ahead of Justin Bieber’s “Peaches” and Silk Sonic’s “Leave The Door Open.” It's quickly drawn criticism for its adult themes and imagery.

“I think the biggest problem for me is the fact he dont understand ‘old town road’ is every kids anthem,” Joyner Lucas tweeted. “Children love him for that record. They tuned in and subscribed to his channels. So with no disclaimer he just dropped some left field ish & all our kids seen it. Smh.”

X has caused serious trouble for the clothing brand MSCHF.

The Product Company was enlisted to help create the controversial “Satan Shoes,” and Nike is suing them for trademark infringement. The Nike Swoosh logo is on X’s customized versions, and the sneaker giant is seeking damages. Nike wants a block on all future sales, has not named Lil Nas X in the lawsuit.

The shoes contain 66 CCs of red ink, one drop of human blood in its sole, a pentagram pendant over the laces and “Luke 10:18” embroidered on the side. The Bible verse is about Satan’s fall from heaven, and because they are customized Nike Air Max 97s, people assumed Nike was behind the collaboration.

Lil Nas X is charging over $1,000 for the 666 pairs he had made.

“This is evil and heresy and I pray that Christians rise up against this,” Pastor Mark Burns said.

His new single, "Montero (Call Me By Your Name)" has a video that features him playing Adam in the Garden of Eden, an angel, as well as a demon, who ends up offering Satan a lap dance and killing him at the end.

"The story opens in a lush Garden of Eden where Nas first introduces the theme of duality, which is displayed throughout the video. He plays the role of Adam as well as the snake that tempts him into giving in to the carnal desires he was forbidden to explore, and we see the two merge and become one," the synopsis read. "Following a nod to Plato's Symposium displayed on the tree of life, a shackled up Nas finds himself at his execution day in the Colosseum, where he is surrounded by and receiving judgment from various versions of himself. Once he has been executed, he ascends to heaven only to be pulled down to hell where he harnesses his sexuality to seduce the devil and strip him of his power as an evil force — and dismantling the throne of judgment and punishment that has kept many of us from embracing our true selves out of fear."

Nas X penned an open letter

"Dear 14 year old Montero," he wrote. "i wrote a song with our name in it. it's about a guy i met last summer. i know we promised to never come out publicly, i know we promised to never be 'that' type of gay person, i know we promised to die with the secret, but this will open doors for many other queer people to simply exist."
