With the growing rate of COVID cases, it is to no surprise that most events are being cancelled. Most recently the Dr. Martin Luther King Celebration Committee within the City Of Fort Lauderdale have also decided to announce that they will be canceling both the Parade, Festival and Battle of The Bands.
"Because the health and safety of our community are our major concerns, and after considering the high rate of infections and hospitalizations in Broward County for the Omicron virus, we, the MLKCC Board of Directors have made the important decision to cancel the 2022 King Holiday Parade, Festival, and Battle of the Bands - all very large crowd events.
We thank and appreciate all of you who responded and made the decision to participate, and we hope that you will consider doing so again!
Please expect a refund of all monies submitted for your reservation as a participant either in the parade or as a vendor. You should receive your refund by next week at the latest..
We hope that you and your family are safe and doing well!" - MLKCC
As of now Miami Dade County will continue with their MLK Parade.
